What Are You Disrupting In Your Life To Be Great?

You might be wondering why I am wearing a Tiger Woods hat.  For those of you that know me, you know I am a big Tiger Woods fan for what he’s done on the golf course. They call him the GOAT (Greatest of all Time). Just like Wayne Gretzky, Jerry Rice and Michael Jordan, they are all called GOAT (Greatest of all Time).  So what did they do to separate themselves to be the greatest? Are they just born with this raw talent and that’s all it takes? Yes, they have raw talent, but they also work really hard.

These days, people want to talk about how easy it is to cut corners and not put in the work. And so, you know, I was watching Tiger Woods the other day on a video and he said, “Wake up! it’s 1 a.m. here on the East Coast and you might be wondering why am I waking up at 1am?”  He said the reason why is, he’s playing in the open next week in Ireland and because of the time difference he wants to acclimate his body and be prepared before and when he gets there so that he can perform at his ultimate best. When you are the GOAT, you do whatever it takes to be the best you can be.

So think about think about it, what can you disrupt in your life?  Joyce and I recently decided to disrupt something in our lives, now this may sound simple to you, but for us it’s a big deal. We like our sleep, just like most people, but we noticed that waking up at 6:15 or 630 a.m. it took us awhile to actually get our work day started since we like to workout in the morning.  We wanted to add more hours to our work day so we can be more productive and get more done.  Now a few days a week we are waking up at 4:45 a.m., now that’s pretty early for us and maybe for some of you that doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it is a disruption in our daily routine. And what it does is it causes urgency and makes you think, okay, I’m up early let’s be productive and get things done.  Making that change has added about 2 to 2.5 hours per day of productivity.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, or you are in sales or even be an 8 year old soccer player what are you going to disrupt? What work are you going to put in to do something different to be the best that you can be?  Sure there are some people that get away with taking shortcuts and not putting the work in, but those are very few and far in between. The ones that really make a difference, the real winners are the ones that put the work in. So put the work in, disrupt your life and your sales will increase if you’re in sales and if you are an entrepreneur, your business will increase.  If you’re an athlete well there’s so many examples of what great athletes do, they sacrifice, they have great discipline and they continually disrupt their lives.
