The Webster Dictionary definition of excellence: The quality of being outstanding or extremely good.
I think we can all be outstanding or extremely good and that’s really the definition of excellence. I think we can be extremely good at everything we do.
My wife tends to do most of the cooking only because she prefers to. I am a gourmet cook and like to cook, but my wife claims that I make too much of a mess when I cook. She loves it when I clean up and I probably should help her clean up more often, but the other day I was washing the pots and pans and you know, I noticed that I was cleaning them kind of fast and then I noticed that they needed a little extra scrubbing, so I used some stainless steel cleaner and put a little elbow grease into it and I got them super shiny, you know where you can see your reflection on both sides of the pan. And what was interesting, while I was scrubbing I was thinking you know why not be excellent at everything you do.
So even when you wash pots and pans be excellent at it because excellence is really a behavior.Booker T. Washington says, “Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way”.
One of Vince Lombardi quotes. “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence”.
I love that, you know, we’re not going to attain perfection, but if we chase after perfection, we can catch excellence.
I hope that you’re going to catch excellence today.
Be excellent with your selling skills, be excellent communicating, be excellent in everything you do and you will truly become more successful.
